The digital space and technology are often dominated by market and war industry. Which tools and processes do we find and generate to transform the digital space into diverse, democratic and inclusive relationships between people? Which instruments provide the European Union and international Associations to close the digital gap and the gender gap? Which legal limits should be put to the injust and unecological consequences of digitalisation and surveillance capitalism? Which democratic institutions do we need to decentralise the digital infrastructure? We discuss these open questions with the lecturer Oana Mitrea, Bernhard Wieser, Utta Isop and international students as part of the course “197.009 (24S) Lectures Series: Engineering: Human and Machine. Social Technological Design and Technological Impact Assessment”.
